Artwork

“Our Common Home”

I create abstract expressions embedded with distinct feeling tones and intentions that make their way through through the gaze and into the heart.

Julie Ann Stevens

The underlying patterns are often inspired by nature or by the sense of a person, place or thing that has a hold on my heart.

I like to create in collections of seven and several of these collections are featured in the sub-pages here.

Though I started my career with watercolor in 2010, my recent works are gesso and acrylic on canvas or wood panel.

Please drop me an email at tdastudio@me.com if you are interested in a piece. Inquiries about commissions are welcome.

  1. Simply beautiful paintings – Julie – I like the use of color and contextual roughness of the surface and paint combined with the soft images. Best to you in your new life and path in Chicago. Mark

    1. Thank you Mark! It’s evolved from the smoothness of watercolor to this dance with texture and color in the last two years. I appreciate your noticing it! Wishing you all the best in your meaningful endeavors in the world of work and health.
